Investigation launched into Brunot Island fire
Pittsburgh Public Safety said Duquesne Light Company was on the scene and reported this is the result of a specialized transformer that "catastrophically failed."

Currently, multiple law enforcement and government agencies have responding to a significant two alarm fire incident at the Power Grid plant located on Brunot Island in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Authorities have confirmed a catastrophic failure of the reactor at the power plant. As a result, thick black smoke and flames are visible from several miles away. It’s currently unknown if anyone in the plant where injured.

PITTSBURGH — Emergency crews are on the scene of a fire on Brunot Island.
Photos and videos shared with Channel 11 from viewers show smoke filling the sky as flames sprout from the island in the Ohio River.
Pittsburgh Public Safety said the fire started after a reactor “catastrophically failed,” according to Duquesne Light.

Firefighters were working to battle a large fire after an explosion was reported Monday night at Brunot Island on the Ohio River, authorities said.
Emergency crews were called for a report of an explosion shortly after 8 p.m., according to an Allegheny County 911 supervisor.
Duquesne Light officials reported to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials that the fire is result “of a reactor that catastrophically failed.”
Duquesne Light has a number of facilities on the island.

UN was even prevented to establish who is firing missiles at that nuclear power plant (easily established within ten minutes or less).
