What’s Next Between Lebanon & Israel: Full Strategic Breakdown

The American Journal Sep 23, 2024

As the war between Israel and Hezbollah continues to escalate the Biden Administration announced this morning that they are sending more U.S. troops and assets to Israel.

Nobody knows exactly how many Israeli and Hezbollah soldiers have been killed in the past week or so in this latest war between the two. Israel is likely over-inflating the number of casualties on Hezbollah’s side and Hezbollah is likely doing the same concerning the Israelis. The Western media is playing cheerleader for Israel and downplaying the attacks upon northern Israel.

Remember, Benjamin Nentahua instituted a press clampdown on the war efforts last fall when war broke out between Israel and Hamas. By the way, did that war just suddenly end? You hear very little about it now…all of the attention is focused on Hezbollah.

No doubt Israel has dealt Hezbollah a crippling blow by last week’s cyber attacks upon their communication devices. Even so, Hezbollah is far from being defeated as is Hamas. Iran, Syria, Iraq, and the Houthis in Yemen have all pledged support for Hezbollah. Just exactly what that will be has yet to be seen.

Rumors are flying this morning that some type of False Flag Attack will occur on Tuesday which will force or draw the U.S. into the war. Israel is nine hours ahead of U.S. time. So if this is true we could see something happen tonight or Tuesday.

Israel wants this war. Hezbollah wants this war. Iran wants this war. And the Biden Administration wants this war. Whether we want, like it, or not, regional war is coming to the Middle East and the U.S. will be in the middle of it.

US is sending more troops to the Middle East as violence rises between Israel and Hezbollah

By TARA COPP and LOLITA C. BALDOR Associated Press September 23, 2024, 11:55 AM ET

The Pentagon says the U.S. is sending additional troops to the Middle East in response to a sharp spike in violence between Israel and Hezbollah forces in Lebanon that is raising the risk of a greater regional war.

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. is sending additional troops to the Middle East in response to a sharp spike in violence between Israel and Hezbollah forces in Lebanon that has raised the risk of a greater regional war, the Pentagon said Monday.

Pentagon press secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder would provide no details on how many additional forces or what they would be tasked to do. The U.S. currently has about 40,000 troops in the region.

On Monday, the aircraft carrier USS Truman, two destroyers and a cruiser set sail from Norfolk, Virginia, headed to the Mediterranean on a regularly scheduled deployment, opening the possibility that the U.S. could keep both the Truman and the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, which is in the Gulf of Oman, nearby in case further violence breaks out.

“In light of increased tension in the Middle East and out of an abundance of caution, we are sending a small number of additional U.S. military personnel forward to augment our forces that are already in the region. But for operational security reasons, I’m not going to comment on or provide specifics.”

The new deployments come after significant strikes by Israeli forces against targets inside Lebanon that have killed hundreds and as Israel is preparing to conduct further operations. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday warned Lebanese civilians in a videotaped message to evacuate their homes ahead of a widening air campaign. He spoke as Israeli warplanes continued to strike alleged Hezbollah targets in southern and eastern Lebanon.

The State Department is warning Americans to leave Lebanon as the risk of a regional war increases.

“Due to the unpredictable nature of ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel and recent explosions throughout Lebanon, including Beirut, the U.S. Embassy urges U.S. citizens to depart Lebanon while commercial options still remain available,” the State Department cautioned Saturday. Ryder would not say if those additional forces might support the evacuation of those citizens if needed.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin held back-to-back calls with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over the weekend as he pressed for a cease-fire and a reduction of tensions in the region, Ryder said.

“Given the tensions, given the escalation, as I highlighted, there is the potential for a wider regional conflict. I don’t think we’re there yet, but it’s a dangerous situation,” Ryder said.

The U.S. presence in the Middle East is designed both to help defend Israel and protect U.S. and allied personnel and assets. Navy warships are scattered across the region, from the eastern Mediterranean Sea to the Gulf of Oman, and both Air Force and Navy fighter jets are strategically based at several locations to be better prepared to respond to any attacks.

Israel's 'war on five fronts': How Jewish state faces all-out conflict against its Middle Eastern enemies after 'killing hundreds' in latest Hezbollah strikes as Lebanon accuses it of carrying out an 'extermination'

By David Averre Published: 10:10 EDT, 23 September 2024 | Updated: 13:05 EDT, 23 September 2024

Israel intensified the conflict in the Middle East to new levels today, killing more than 180 people in Lebanon in the latest attacks since military officials declared a 'new phase' of war against Hezbollah had begun last week.

On Tuesday, Mossad is thought to have orchestrated one of the most psychologically damaging clandestine attacks in recent memory, injuring thousands of Hezbollah members with exploding pagers and radios across two days.

Then on Friday, the IDF delivered a punishing strike that eliminated a top Hezbollah commander along with some 37 other militiamen and civilians, before continuing aerial bombardments over the weekend and into this morning.

Lebanon's health ministry this afternoon declared 274 people have been killed and at least 1,024 injured so far today alone, prompting officials to accuse Jerusalem of carrying out an 'extermination'.

But Israel's hawkish defence minister Yoav Gallant and IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari say they 'will do whatever is needed' to cripple Hezbollah's military capabilities and allow displaced residents from Israel's northern territories to return home safely.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah's leader Hassan Nasrallah has vowed to continue fighting until a ceasefire in Gaza is agreed upon, with deputy leader Naim Qassem declaring the group is now entering 'an open-ended battle of reckoning' with Israel.

These developments have led many analysts to caution that violence in the region is now approaching untenable levels, raising the prospect of an all-out war between Israel and its numerous foes.

Now, MailOnline examines how Israel may fare in a full-scale conflict with its key adversaries and speaks to experts to determine whether such a devastating regional war could materialise.
